Rounding out the potential Southern California Tribal casinos set to open is Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, which announced a possible June 1 reopening. “Our reopening will be centered around the health and safety of our team members, guests, community, and the Tribe,” Pechanga announced on Facebook. Pechanga Reopens with Limited Operations TEMECULA, Calif. – (June 1, 2020) – On Monday, June 1 at 12 p.m., Pechanga Resort Casino, located just outside of Temecula, Calif., reopened to the public. The West Coast’s largest casino/resort closed March 16 after a decision by Pechanga Tribal leaders was made to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Pechanga Resort Casino near Temecula will close to the public starting at noon on New Year’s Eve. The resort announced the decision to close via its Facebook page, saying that it will give access only to Pechanga Club members and invited guests in an effort to reduce capacity amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. It will reopen to the public at 6 a.m.
The Pechanga RV Resort opened this week with limited spaces after closing on April 6 following the COVID-19 pandemic and mandated closures.
According to a press release, safety measures will be implemented for both guests and team members in order to maintain public health and safety. This includes requiring guests to wear face coverings while outside their campers and maintaining a minimum six-foot physical distance from others.
“This was another important milestone as we move into the economic recovery phase of this pandemic,” said Jared Munoa, president of the Pechanga Development Corporation. “We remain vigilant in doing our part to protect public health and safety, which is why we are maintaining many of the same health precautions that are still in place at our RV Resort as are in place across California.”
Reservations may be made online on Pechanga.com/rvresort. A date for reopening the Pechanga Resort Casino has not been set yet as Pechanga continues to coordinate closely with federal, state and local government officials, according to the release.
